My Views

I believe that the actions of Members of Congress should accurately reflect the beliefs of those who elected him/her.  I feel that said Representative should vote on legislation based upon input from the constituency.  If the majority says No, then the Rep votes No.  What a concept!!!
When it comes to specific issues, I can give my opinion on those when asked.  I will, however, give a few visions on the major topics that are always asked of candidates:

Abortion

I have no real "for" or "against" opinion on Abortion.  I have a child, so I know what would be eliminated.  On the contrary, I have never been in the position to need/want/seek an Abortion.  Personally, I could not fathom destroying a child - but I also understand that not everyone shares this view and I completely respect that.  This is the beauty of America: We are allowed to amicably disagree on these issues.
I will say that the Federal Government has ABSOLUTELY NO PLACE being involved with Abortion.  I feel that this is a 10th Amendment issue -- A matter of State's Rights.  Let the people of The State dictate the legality, level of government involvement, etc.
My final remark about abortion is that I strongly believe that Fathers MUST have involvement in the issue.  It takes both a Man and Woman to create a child, therefore it is imperative that both have the responsibility in the decisions that affect the life of that child.

Gun Control

It is every American's RIGHT to lawfully own, carry & use firearms.  This is granted to us by the Second Amendment of our Constitution.  This is a right that should NOT be stripped or limited, and I will fight to protect this Constitutional Right - and every other right granted to us by the Constitution.

Iran

Do I feel that Iran is a viable threat to the United States?  Yes - Politically and Economically.  Am I pleased that our current and the previous President refuse to talk to the leaders of Iran?  Absolutely not!  I am still extremely disappointed with President Bush for vehemently refusing to speak with Iranian President Ahmadenijad when he was in the US to speak at the United Nations.  Current President Obama has yet to speak with him, as well.
If I am elected, I will be a bigger man than both Mr. Bush and Mr. Obama - I will act like an adult and sit down and talk about the disagreements between the US and Iran.  It is time to stop acting like children in the schoolyard and be Respectable Adults.  Sitting down at a table and discussing problems is the appropriate thing to do - NOT sling insults and give each other the Silent Treatment as children do.

"Economic Stimulus" & Bailouts

If the Federal Government truly wanted to stimulate the economy by freely giving away taxpayer money - Give It To The People!  It is OUR money.  Below is an example:
Allocate $XXXXXXXXXXXX amount of money for stimulus.  Divide that sum of cash by XXXXXXX number Taxpaying US Citizens.  Give that amount to each taxpayer.
This would have stimulated the Economy as a WHOLE.  People would have had disposable income in their hands to pay mortgages, auto loans, utility bills, credit cards, Etc.  The mortgage & auto loan payments would have helped shore up the banking industry.  The auto industry would have benefitted because people would erase debt and have the ability to purchase new vehicles.  The Retail sector would have shown better revenues and sales because people would be more financially stable & confident in their financial futures.
       ........ Economy Stimulated.
These plans 'Stimulated' the wrong people.  Auto makers, Campaign contributers, and other wrongful reciepients were given billions of Taxpayer dollars to get their operations and payrolls back in order.  However, we see the results of giving this money to General Motors - Bankruptcy still.

And now we are seeing these same people being "satisfied" with all of the earmarks and "Sweetheart Deals" that are buried within the Senate Helthcare Bill.
